Pride House LA/West Hollywood celebrated Pride this year by hosting a successful outdoor screening of the classic women’s sports film A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN.

About 500 people turned out for the screening event, “There’s No Crying At Pride,” on the evening of Saturday, June 21, at the Autry Museum of the American West.

In addition to the screening of the film, a couple of women in particular were honored.

Maybelle Blair, who at 98 is one of the few women still alive who played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, was given proclamations from both the State of California and the County of Los Angeles.

Actress Patti Pelton, who played player Marbleann Wilkenson in the film, also attended.

The screening as produced in conjunction with Street Food Cinema and raised money and awareness for Pride House in Los Angeles and West Hollywood.
