Nicole Branagh

As a beach volleyball player, Nicole Branagh won multiple events on the women’s World Tour. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing fifth.

Jason Collins

The first active gay NBA player to come out publicly, Jason Collins has been a positive role model for LGBTQ inclusion in basketball for over a decade.

Robert Dover

The first gay athlete to compete at an Olympics after coming out publicly, Robert Dover won four Olympic medals in dressage. He is an American icon in the sport.

Randy Gardner

With skating partner Tai Babilonia, Olympian Randy Gardner was one of the darlings of American sports in the late 1970s. They won a World Championship in 1979, and only an injury kept them from the 1980 Winter Olympics.

Many people consider Stephanie Wheeler the GOAT of USA women’s wheelchair basketball. She has won three Paralympic gold medals, winning as both an athlete and a coach.
