Out Athlete Fund receives over $180k in contribution from Los Angeles County for Pride House LA/West Hollywood

Out Athlete Fund has received a contribution from the County of Los Angeles for $180,900 for the development and production of Pride House LA/West Hollywood during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics and other events throughout the county.

Pride House LA/West Hollywood will be a destination at both major sporting events welcoming LGBTQ+ fans, coaches and athletes to the county. The events will highlight the history of LGBTQ+ people across sports, and they will include entertainment and educational opportunities for LGBTQ+ people, as well as supporters interested in celebrating the community.

“Having support for Pride House from Los Angeles County Supervisor Lyndsey Horvath and people from across the County is a huge step toward delivering truly special experiences for the LGBTQ+ community at these major sporting events here in Los Angeles,” said Pride House LA/West Hollywood CEO Michael Ferrera.

The funding from the County of Los Angeles comes weeks after the City of West Hollywood committed $1 million in financial support for the event, in addition to other in-kind contributions like access to West Hollywood Park as the event location.

“I am proud to support Pride House Los Angeles/West Hollywood as we prepare for the 2028 Games and work to ensure LGBTQ+ athletes are seen, supported and celebrated at every level of sport,” said Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath. “By expanding visibility, inclusion and belonging, Pride House is strengthening both athletes and the broader sports community. Through its programming and community engagement leading up to 2028, we are helping build a lasting legacy of opportunity, representation, and support that extends well beyond the Games."

Pride House LA/West Hollywood is a project of Out Athlete Fund, a non-profit designed to elevate out LGBTQ+ athletes and celebrate them and the community at major sporting events.

Pride House in Los Angeles County will take place in West Hollywood during the FIFA World Cup, June 11-14, and all throughout the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.
