WEST HOLLYWOOD, California – With just under 1,000 days to the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics, plans for Pride House LA/West Hollywood are moving forward. To that end, the West Hollywood City Council on October 6 voted unanimously to commit $1 million in sponsorship, as well as West Hollywood Park and other resources, to Out Athlete Fund, which will bring Pride House LA/West Hollywood to the park during the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.

The commitment marks a significant milestone for Pride House LA/West Hollywood. The $1 million financial commitment is the first major sponsorship for Out Athlete Fund’s efforts. In addition, the commitment of West Hollywood Park ensures the event will be in the epicenter of the LGBTQ+ community of Los Angeles.

Pride House LA/West Hollywood will be a 17-day celebration of the LGBTQ+ community in sports during the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. The first US-based Pride House during an Olympic Games will feature a stage with nightly concerts and dance parties, viewing parties of the Olympics, daily demonstrations of sports and other interactive experiences, the first-ever LGBTQ+ sports film festival, a museum of LGBTQ+ participation in the Olympics, and an area for athletes and Olympians to meet and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

“This commitment from the City of West Hollywood is a huge step toward bringing the vision of Pride House LA/West Hollywood to life,” said Out Athlete Fund Board President Les Johnson. “With West Hollywood and our growing number of partners, we are building what will be the most incredible LGBTQ+ event the world has ever seen, and we’ll do it in the middle of the world’s attention on Los Angeles during the 2028 Summer Olympics.”

“I’ve been involved with many LGBTQ+ events here in West Hollywood and the Los Angeles area for three decades,” said Michael Ferrera, CEO of Pride House LA/West Hollywood. “The 2028 version of Pride House will be like nothing the LGBTQ+ community has ever seen before. With the partnership of the City of West Hollywood, we will make a statement of acceptance and inclusion in sports like none before us.”
