LOS ANGELES BLADE: Pride House ’28 in West Hollywood will be a milestone for LA and LGBTQ Olympians

Growing up as a closeted gay kid in Massachusetts, I never imagined that decades later I’d help bring Pride House to my adopted home of West Hollywood for the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

In the 1980s around Boston, sports ran in my family’s blood. The Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics reigned supreme in my childhood home. Cheering for them as a family created some of my greatest memories as a kid.

Despite the Celtics’ legendary rivalry with Los Angeles, Southern California is where I’ve called home as an adult. Over the years, I’ve contributed to the LGBTQ+ community in and around the Los Angeles area since moving here.

What we’re building for Pride House in West Hollywood in 2028 — as well as Pride House during the 2026 FIFA World Cup — will be memorable.
